Parts of the UK are bracing for wet and windy weather this week as Storm Babet hits the UK - including parts of Greater Manchester.

Ireland has already endured flooding, while a red weather warning for rain is in place for areas in Scotland - the first of its kind issued in the UK since Storm Dennis in February 2020.

A yellow weather warning is in place for Greater Manchester, coming into force from 6pm today (Thursday October 19). However, according to forecasters, Greater Manchester will see heavy downpours from around 10am this morning.

The yellow rain warning is in place until 6am on Saturday, October 21, lasting 36 hours.
