Stockport’s famous multi-storey car park at the Merseyway shopping centre is to be the venue for the 10th birthday celebration of the renowned Art Battle party.
The brutalist masterpiece will be the backdrop for the event, which finds artists going head-to-head. As ever, a line-up of painters, illustrators, tattooists and street artists will be battling it out to complete a brand new work of art in just 30 minutes.
The assembled audience then vote on which artwork is the best, crowning a champion. Art Battle has taken place in a host of quirky locations all across Greater Manchester since launching back in 2013, and never the same venue twice.
There have been Art Battle parties at the London Road Fire Station, the Albert Hall, The Royal Exchange, Victoria Baths, and Escape to Freight Island, as well as an array of historic mills and warehouses.
