Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard makes Alfredo Morelos red card ban claim as Rangers boss provides striker injury update

Alfredo Morelos for a quick recovery after being stretchered off but insists the Colombian would have seen red if roles were reversed.

The striker was a first half sub before being replaced himself when he was taken out with a horror tackle from Dundee United defender Ryan Edwards.

And while Gerrard insists he wasn't going to ask for the centre back to be red card but feels Morelos would be facing a ban if it was him who made the challenge.

The Rangers gaffer admits that the injury wasn't as bad as it could be but he was unimpressed with the incident, with Kevin Clancy not even giving a free kick.He told RangersTV: "I only got a good view of it after the game.
