Interim Rangers boss Steven Davis is playing his cards close to his chest as he was put on the spot over whether he wants the job permanently.

The 38-year-old is preparing to take charge of his first game in the Europa League group stage since Michael Beale 's sudden departure after the Scottish Premiership defeat to Aberdeen.

It was been a whirlwind couple of days for the new man in the hot seat after receiving the call from the Ibrox board on Monday to replace the Londoner on a temporary basis.

Davis was straight into training at Auchenhowie on Monday morning alongside the new-look management team consisting of Alex Rae and Steven Smith - and the stand-in Rangers boss admits he is looking to grasp the chance to lead the side.
