And various reports now claim that former Club Brugge and Monaco boss Clement selected as the man for Rangers. Australian boss and former Ibrox midfielder Muscat has reportedly been "told he is no longer in the running" to replace Michael Beale and looks set to remain with the J-League champions barring a late twist in the tale.
Rangers have been without a manager after Beale's 10 month spell came to an end. Beale was sacked after a 3-1 Premiership defeat to Aberdeen, which saw them slip seven points behind rivals Celtic in the table.
