Stephen Fry has been rushed to hospital with injuries after he suffered a shock fall whilst on stage at the CogX Festival. The 66 year old had been giving a talk at London's O2 arena last week when he fell six feet off the edge of the stage to the floor, where he suffered blows to his ribs and his legs.
It is understood that Stephen had finished his talk when the accident happened. A source has told the Daily Mail: "It looked like it was too dark, and there didn't look like there was a handrail. "He fell two metres to the floor.
He looked to have been hurt as he had to leave in a wheelchair." OK! have contacted Stephen's representatives for comment. Since the fall, Stephen has been silent on social media despite being a prolific poster before the incident. The organisers of the CogX Festival have said that they have launched an investigation into what happened.
A spokesperson for the event has said: "We were deeply concerned to hear of Stephen's accident after giving his inspirational speech on the impact of AI. "We are thinking of him and wishing him a swift recovery.
