HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has confirmed changes to payment dates for Child Benefit, Guardian’s Allowance and Tax Credits over the festive fortnight.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Social Security Scotland have not announced any changes yet, but as in previous years, is expected to follow the same payment pattern as HMRC.
Christmas Day falls on a Monday and Boxing Day on a Tuesday, which means both days are classed as Bank Holidays across Scotland, England and Wales.
HMRC has confirmed that payments it is due to make on December 25 and 26 will instead be paid on Friday, December 22. People due Tax Credits on December 27 and 28 (Scotland and England only) will also receive their payment early on Friday, December 22.
