A starving baby boy found crying next to his dead mother was shivering and had blood on him that the police said "wasn't his", a neighbour claims.
Mercy Baguma's son was lying next to her body when police entered her flat in Glasgow on Saturday morning after neighbours heard the boy's screams.
Ms Baguma, a 34-year-old asylum seeker originally from Uganda, was no longer allowed to work, lived in "extreme poverty" and couldn't afford food, and had begged for help from a charity just over a week before she was discovered dead.
A neighbour said she heard Ms Baguma's son crying the day before officers found the pair and banged on her door to ask for baby food or formula, and something warm to wrap the child in.
