‘Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl’ has been delayed again

GSC Game World has announced it is pushing back the release of Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl.Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl has faced a number of challenges throughout development.

The post-apocalyptic horror shooter was originally announced in 2010 with a 2012 release date, but the dissolution of developer GSC Game World meant that the game was cancelled the same year.GSC reformed in 2014, with work starting up again on Stalker 2 in 2018.

Since then, the Ukraine-based developer has had to contend with the ongoing conflict with Russia while a fire broke out in their Prague offices earlier this year, causing over £50,000 worth of damage.Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl had been due for release in Q1 of 2024, but was delayed in January and given a new release date of September 5, 2024.

The company has now confirmed the launch of Stalker 2 is being pushed back by eleven weeks.“We know you might be tired of waiting and we truly appreciate your patience,” said the team in a statement. “These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more ‘unexpected anomalies’ (or simply ‘bugs’, as you call them).
