‘Stagtown’ Horror Film Adaptation Set at Wattpad Webtoon Studios, LuckyChap From Director Benjamin Brewer (EXCLUSIVE)
variety.comLuckyChap and Wattpad Webtoon Studios Inc. are producing a live-action film adaptation of the Webtoon hit “Stagtown.” Filmmaker and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” VFX artist Benjamin Brewer is on board to write and direct the project.
The film will be adapted from creator Punko’s Webtoon webcomic, “Stagtown,” which has over 18 million views online. Beloved by fans for its nightmare-inducing plot and eerie artwork, the film will follow Frankie, Jeremy, and Felix as they discover something is terribly wrong in the town of Stagtown and attempt to escape the horrors that the residents spend every day ignoring.
Aron Levitz, David Madden and Jason Goldberg will produce for Wattpad Webtoon Studios alongside the team at LuckyChap. Brewer has directed award-winning music videos for artists such as Alt-J, The War on Drugs and Justin Bieber.
Brewer most recently directed the film “Arcadian,” which premiered at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival to critical acclaim. Released by IFC Films, the film stars Nicolas Cage and Jaeden Martell.
