St Mirren have sealed a deadline day swoop for former Rangers and Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones. The 27-year-old moved from Ibrox to Sunderland on loan in January last year before making a permanent switch to Wigan Athletic in August.

The Northern Ireland international has found game-time difficult to come by this season, with Buddies boss Jim Goodwin taking full advantage to bring the creative forward to Paisley for the second half of the season.

Goodwin has spoken about his desire to bring some pace and creativity to St Mirren 's attacking options in this transfer window, with Jones adding to that for the second half of the season.

Jones started his career with Middlesbrough, before making his name at Kilmarnock under current Scotland boss Steve Clarke. His fine form earned him international recognition and a move to Rangers in 2019, but found a regular starting spot difficult to come by at Ibrox. He will be hoping to rejuvenate his career in Paisley as the Buddies look to push up the table and seal the top six spot that slipped through their fingers last season.Meanwhile St Mirren playmaker Jamie McGrath's future continues to hang in the balance, with interested parties continuing to keep tabs on the Ireland international.
