Saints midfielder Alex Gogic helped steer Cyprus through a nervy play-off clash with Estonia.In the second leg of their Nations League C contest, having drawn 0-0 in their first meeting, Gogic played at centre back as the hosts battled to a 2-0 victory.The win last night secures their status in League C, with Estonia now relegated to League D.Back in Scotland Dylan Reid picked up his third Scotland Under-17 cap in the space of a week as Brian McLaughlin’s boys hammered Georgia 6-1 at the Falkirk Stadium.

The 16-year-old St Mirren midfielder produced another assist after playing in Cameron Cooper for the opener. Celtic youngster Ben Doak went on to hit a hat-trick, with the emphatic win sealing Scotland a place at this summer’s Under-17 Euros in Israel.

Reid will be hoping his performances have done enough to keep him in the squad for that exciting trip.His teammate Jay Henderson was forced to watch on from the bench as Scotland’s Under-21’s suffered a disappointing late draw with Kazakhstan yesterday afternoon.The talented 20-year-old made his debut for Scot Gemmill’s side at Tynecastle on Friday night, coming on as a second half substitute during a 2-2 draw with Turkey.The pacey forward was hoping to pick up his second cap in yesterday’s must-win clash against Kazakhstan in Almaty.But he was an unused substitute as the hosts went on to bag a late equaliser in injury-time to all but spell the end of Scotland’s chances of qualifying for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.Former St Mirren star John McGinn scored a wonderful goal in Scotland’s friendly against Austria last night, his 12th for his country, but Steve Clarke's men threw away a two-goal lead to end up drawing 2-2 in Vienna.
