Super sub Zak Rudden scored with one of his first touches as 10-man St Johnstone battled to a point against St Mirren, writes Samuel Porritt.
A tight first half of football had ended poorly for Saints when Daniel Phillips received a red card. Reduced to 10 men, the Perth side still managed to take the lead with 15 minutes remaining.
Rudden guided a beautiful header over and beyond Trevor Carson. Saints were soon pegged back, though, with Alex Gogic’s nodded effort drawing the visitors level - and that is how the game would finish.
The result leaves Callum Davidson’s men eighth in the table, four points off of the top six. Davidson’s side lined-up in his preferred 5-3-2 formation, with the only change to his starting 11 from the victorious trip to Tannadice being the introduction of Andy Considine who returned from his suspension.
