St Cuthbert Wanderers boss Ian Clark reckons it’s just a matter of time until things start clicking for his side. The Kirkcudbright outfit are bottom of the Utility Hut South of Scotland League with no points after losing 3-2 to Mid Annandale on Saturday.
But Clark believes the players aren’t far away from getting the results their efforts merit. He said: “There’s an undercurrent where you can feel that it’s coming.
I think that’s what encourages me and how we play and the way we play. “We’re creating a lot more chances in the last four or five weeks since I took over. “The relationship is building with the front three. “It’s just going to be that one wee thing – what it is I don’t know at this moment in time, that’s something we’ll try to keep tinkering to get.
Once it clicks and we find that one wee thing the lads will get the benefits of the foundations they’ve put in just now. “I think I’d be disheartened if I thought there was a lot of work to do but I genuinely think we’re almost there. “I said in the dressing room to the lads there’s going to be a lightbulb moment where we make a tweak or something is going to fall into place and it’s just going to click. “When that happens the results will come. “The performance and effort levels are there, as is trying to do things the right way, I just think there’s that one wee spark we’re missing.” Callum Smith headed Mids in front and extended their lead through Ben Irving, who then had a goal ruled out for offside.
