Spiritbox frontwoman Courtney LaPlante was mistaken for Poppy during an interview at the Grammys and decided to answer for her fellow Best Metal Performance nominee – check out footage of the awkward interview below.While walking the red carpet at the 67th annual Grammy Awards last night (February 2), LaPlante was approached by an unknown publication for an interview, who mistook the Spiritbox singer for Poppy.

LaPlante originally gave the interviewer a look of confusion, only for the interviewer to double down: “You are, you got nominated against Judas Priest.”LaPlante then decided to do the rest of the interview while pretending to be Poppy: “I am Poppy, and I am really happy to be here, nominated with Knocked Loose.

I really hope we win.”The Spiritbox went on to answer on behalf of the real Poppy, who had been nominated in the past before and that “she” was honoured to have performed with Knocked Loose on Jimmy Kimmel recently.LaPlante added: “Really happy to be here again, would love to take home the Grammy for Knocked Loose and myself because I would be the first woman to win this award.

I actually haven’t looked at [how many women have been nominated previously] but I just always know that it’s time for one of us to win.
