Brent Lang Executive Editor Spencer Boldman is set to star in a new biopic about blind country musical legend Ronnie Milsap.
The film will be based on his autobiography “Almost Like a Song.” The film is being packaged by its executive producer, Gary Negherbon of Negherbon Media Group, and Boldman’s longtime manager, Antonia DeNardo.
Boldman will also be an executive producer on the film. Milsap had congenital blindness from birth. He went on to became a successful country crossover singer and was known for incorporating pop, R&B, and rock elements into chart-topping hits such as “It Was Almost Like a Song,” “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World,” “Any Day Now,” “Smoky Mountain Rain,” and “(There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me.” He was awarded six Grammy Awards, winning the coveted 1991 Country Music Entertainer of the Year Award.
He was also inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014. Boldman recently appeared in Hulu’s limited series “Welcome to Chippendales” alongside Kumail Nanjiani, Murray Bartlett and Juliette Lewis.
