South Korean TV Shows Not Airing Due to Plane Crash

Several major programs in South Korea are taking the night off amid the tragic news of a plane crash at Muan International Airport on Sunday (December 29).

Jeju Air flight 7C 2216 from Bangkok was carrying 175 passengers and six crew. Only two crew members out of 181 people on board the craft survived the passenger jet crash, making it the deadliest aviation disaster in South Korea in nearly 30 years.

Due to the horrific news, the 2024 MBC Entertainment Awards will no longer be taking place. Keep reading to find out more… MBC announced that the ceremony, which was to be held at 8:30 p.m.

local time, would not be airing, via Soompi. MBC previously announced that The King of Mask Singer would be taking the night off due to coverage of the crash as well. KBS has cancelled its Sunday variety show broadcasts, which include 2 Days & 1 Night Season 4, Gag Concert, and Boss in the Mirror.
