The son of the head of a "notorious" organised crime gang will avoid prison after admitting to his part in a plot to hide armed weapons to get his father out of jail early.

Jack Kavanagh, tried to help his father, Thomas “Bomber” Kavanagh, 57, engineer a lighter sentence for drug smuggling. The plan was for Thomas Kavanagh to lead police to a stash of weapons that had been hidden by Jack Kavanagh and other members of the Kinahan crew.
