An inquest has heard a teenage soldier was found dead after she grew fearful of the "psychotic and possessive" conduct of her supervisor, whom she believed had "hacked" into her mobile phone and bombarded her with messages.
Jaysley Beck, 19, was found at Larkhill Camp in Wiltshire on December 15, 2021. She had completed her initial training at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate before continuing her military career at Larkhill in 2020.
The Army produced an investigation report in October 2023 which documented "an intense period of unwelcome behaviour". The report asserted strongly that this likely played a pivotal part in causing the young Royal Artillery Gunner's death.
During the inquest held in Salisbury, Leighann McCready, Jaysley's mother, told how her daughter "did not feel safe" as the issues with Bombardier Ryan Mason escalated.
