In a rare crossover between the Golden Globes and the Oscars, Adam Sandler was part of both ceremonies’ opening monologues this year.
While he was all dressed up at the Globes, he went for a dressed down look at the Oscars, and was called out by host Conan O’Brien. “Nobody even thought about what I was wearing until you brought it up,” Sandler, wearing a hoodie and shorts, yelled back in a fake outrage. “I like the way I look.
Because I’m a good person; I don’t care about what I wear and what I don’t wear [and that] my snazzy gym shorts and fluffy sweatshirt offend you so much that you had to mock me in front my peers!” Sandler then got up and stormed out but not before stopping by Timothée Chalamet, seated nearby for another Timothee Chalameeeeet shoutout.
The gag started at the Globes where host Nikki Glaser made a joke with Chalamet’s name during her opening monologue: “Your name sounds like something Adam Sandler would say.” Sandler jumped in to illustrate the joke by saying “Timothée ah Chalameeeeet.” Sandler then made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live three weeks later, saying Chalamet’s name again by introducing one of his performances during the A Complete Unknown star’s stint as host and musical guest.Adam Sandler: “One more thing… Chalameeeeet” #Oscars pic.twitter.com/p2O2yXpQek By providing your information, you agree to our Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.
