SNP candidates put names forward for Perth and Kinross Council elections

A number of SNP candidates have been put forward to contest the upcoming Perth and Kinross Council elections on May 5. John Rebbeck and Ian Massie have been selected as the SNP candidates to represent Perth City North ward.

Meanwhile, Richard Watters has been selected to represent the Kinross-shire ward and Michelle Frampton has been selected as the candidate to represent the Almond and Earn ward.

Both Jack Welch and Grant Stewart have been selected as candidates to contest the Strathmore ward and John Kellas and Ken Harvey for Carse of Gowrie, it was also announced.

Mr Rebbeck has served as a councillor since 2017 and said: “I am humbled to have been re-selected as an SNP candidate for Perth City North and to be given the opportunity to continue representing our communities. “Since being elected in 2017, I have worked towards making Perth City North an even better place to live.”Mr Massie said: “I feel privileged to have been chosen again as the SNP candidate for Perth City North and to have the chance to continue helping to shape the future of our local community.“Local residents know what is needed to improve the area they live in.“As such, I will continue to listen and take action to help them via community empowerment programmes and by ensuring the ward receives the right services.” Watters said: “I am very pleased to have been re-selected as the SNP candidate for Kinross-shire. “Serving the community since 2017, I have been committed to finding ways to build more quality affordable housing to encourage young people to stay and work locally, so that we can protect Kinross-shire’s long-term economic and social viability.”Ms Frampton said: “I am truly honoured to have been chosen as the SNP candidate for Almond
