Slade's Noddy Holder has shared an encouraging update after being diagnosed with cancer and given just six months to live.The former rocker, 77, has shared that he is doing well , thanks to experimental treatment for cancer that he was told would kill him.

He has said that his cancer is "on an even keel" and that he's responding well to an experimental treatment.The good news comes after he was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in 2017 and was given the devastating news it was terminal.

But after quietly taking part in a clinical trial for an experimental treatment, Holder has surpassed the doctors' expectations by five years.

Holder says his condition was "touch and go" for a while when he was given the six month warning. Chatting to BBC Radio 2, he said: "I lost all my hair.
