A Sky News reporter broke down in tears during a live broadcast as she read out 'distressing' details of the Southport attack that left three children dead.

Sarah-Jane Mee was reporting live for the news channel from outside Liverpool Crown Court on the day that Axel Rudakubana is due to be sentenced.

Earlier this week, the 18-year-old admitted killing the three girls - Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven - in a knife attack at a Taylor Swift dance class in the Merseyside town on July 29 last year.

He also pleaded guilty to the attempted murders of eight other children who cannot be named for legal reasons, class instructor Leanne Lucas and businessman John Hayes.
