Six-hour Met Office weather alert issued for Greater Manchester as rain clouds roll in

Forecasters from the Met Office have issued a yellow alert. The warning is in place from 4am tomorrow (July 7), and is due to last until 10am.

Members of the public are advised to avoid travelling where possible. A Met Office alert covers the majority of Wigan and the outskirts of Salford and Bolton.
