Sir Rod Stewart joins line up for Queen's Platinum Jubilee concert
dailyrecord.co.ukSir Rod Stewart has joined the line up to play for Queen's Platinum Jubilee concert on June 4. The Platinum Party at the Palace (not to be confused with Scotland's own music event which happens at Linlithgow in August) will be held over the long bank holiday weekend.
And Sir Rod will join Queen + Adam Lambert, who will open the extravaganza to mark the Queen's 70 years on the throne.Sir Rod said: “Queen Elizabeth has given incredible service to the United Kingdom over the last 70 years and I’m delighted to be able to join her in celebrating her Platinum Jubilee with the Party At The Palace."She has demonstrated to the world what a special person she is and how lucky we are to have her.
This will be a momentous occasion.”Andrea Bocelli, Alicia Keys, and the UK's Eurovision star Sam Ryder will also perform live.Sir Elton John has a special recorded performance while Sir David Attenborough, Emma Raducanu, David Beckham, Stephen Fry and Dame Julie Andrews will also take part.Craig David, Mabel, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Ella Eyre, Elbow, Jax Jones, Celeste, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Diversity, George Ezra and Sigala will also be on stage.Viewers will also be able to watch performances from the casts of The Phantom Of The Opera, Hamilton, Six, The Lion King and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.And Diana Ross will close the two-and-a-half-hour show during her first UK live performance in 15 years.The concert will be broadcast live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Radio 2 and The BBC said: "The evening will pivot around global themes that have been born, or evolved, during the breadth of Her Majesty's reign due to extraordinary British and Commonwealth contributions including Fashion, Sport, The Environment, 70 Years of Pop
