Sir Michael Parkinson has died at the age of 88. He is often branded as one of the greatest interviewers of all time, with his Saturday night TV show bringing in millions of viewers while featuring some of the famous faces of the 20th and 21st century.
The TV star interviewed some of the biggest names throughout his career such as Fred Astaire, Lauren Bacall, and Ingrid Bergmann.
A statement from Sir Michael’s family said: “After a brief illness Sir Michael Parkinson passed away peacefully at home last night in the company of his family.
