Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes the Glazer family's takeover of the club in 2005 "changed nothing". Malcolm Glazer acquired a majority stake in the club in May 2005 via investment company Red Football and his controlling stake was split equally between his six children when he passed away in 2014.The Glazers' ownership has been largely unpopular among United's fanbase, with Malcolm Glazer financing his takeover by using a leveraged buyout which has plunged them into huge debt.However, speaking back in 2013, Ferguson stated that "there is a misconception about the Glazers buying the club".In an interview with talk-show host Charlie Rose on PBS, Ferguson was asked whether the takeover had changed things and he replied:.
