But it seems his first impressions of Paul Scholes came back to bite him after he initially wrote off the midfielder for being too small.
Scholes was a part of United's fabled Class of 92' and came through the ranks alongside David Beckham, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs.
Today he is regarded as one of the greatest midfielders to have ever played the game, let alone represent Manchester United.
