Brazil has lost a beloved musician in an unbelievably horrifying accident over the weekend. Rocker Ayres Sasaki was performing a concert in Salinopolis on Saturday when one of his fans got the lucky opportunity to hug the singer.
As he gave his fan a hug, though, he was killed instantly onstage in front of the whole crowd. The fan who hugged him was soaking wet, getting Ayres wet as well.
And as the singer pulled away, he was electrocuted by a high-voltage cable that was onstage. He was only 35 years old. So, so tragic. Related: Rapper Killed At Meet & Greet With Fans! It’s unclear how the fan got wet — perhaps it may have been sweat, splashing himself with water to cool off in the Brazilian heat?
Police aren’t sure, though, and are investigating the rocker’s death. His aunt Rita Matos spoke to local news outlets and explained the situation: Meanwhile, the venue where the concert was taking place — The Solar Hotel — released a statement about the incident: Ayres is survived by his wife Mariana.
