Greater Manchester Police said they were called to 'random and sickening attack' on the woman, aged in her 20s, just after 12.30am this morning (Tuesday).

An investigation has now been launched into the 'truly horrendous' incident. No arrests have been made and detectives are hunting down the gang of men.

This morning, locals woke up to find entrances into Kirkup Gardens, off Simonsway and Longhope Road, taped off by officers. An area of grass near the play area was cordoned
