Councillors have approved a holiday home application for a six-bedroom house in a plush Gleneagles street - which once attracted a rental from US basketball legend Michael Jordan. The luxury home - which is registered to an address in the Cayman Islands - is a stone's throw from the five star hotel. The short-term let bid attracted objections from neighbours who described it as a “party house” within “a private residential area” while the applicant argued it was “a resort location”.Several houses on Balmoral Court have sold for around £1 million - some for far more.Perth and Kinross Licensing Committee considered the application when it met on Tuesday, March 12.Applicant Chelverton Investments Ltd director Paul Lewis told councillors the company was “taken aback by the number of objections and the contents” and assured the committee hen/stag parties were not allowed.Eight letters of objection were submitted to Perth and Kinross Council by Balmoral Court residents and a belated ninth letter of objection - submitted by Sir Peter Vardy - was also accepted for consideration.Resident Mr Bryden said: “Balmoral Court is a peaceful residential area with 13 houses, accessible through a private road.”Mr Bryden raised an issue with cars parked on the “narrow” road and said when his elderly neighbour nicely asked if guests could move their van she “got verbal abuse”.When asked by Cllr Willie Robertson if there was any history of these properties being rented out - “for example when the Ryder Cup was on”- Mr Bryden admitted he had once rented out his home to a well-known sports star.He said: “I rented my house out privately before I occupied the house.
