Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large Emmy winners Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tony Hale have signed on to announce this year’s Emmy nominations, live on July 17, at 8:30 a.m.
PT from Disney’s El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. The nominations reveal will stream live on the Emmys website, via Emmys.com/nominations.
Also on hand for his first Emmy nominations ceremony as new Television Academy chair will be Cris Abrego. “While this year has been marked by significant challenges for our industry and its workforce, there has been an abundance of remarkable programs, extraordinary performances and impactful storytelling,” Abrego said. “Great television relies on the contributions of so many, and we are delighted to have Tony and Sheryl help us acknowledge excellence across our field as we embark on a season of tremendous celebration.” The 76th Emmys will air live on Sunday, Sept.
15 at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT on ABC. It will be the year’s second Primetime Emmys event, as the 75th Emmys — delayed four months due to the Hollywood strikes — just aired in January on Fox.
