Sheridan Smith breaks silence on BBC Gavin and Stacey return as she claims 'history'

The hit BBC One sitcom returned for one last time on Christmas Day. Gavin and Stacey - written by and starring James Corden and Ruth Jones – originally aired between 2007 and 2010, and told the long-distance love story of title characters Stacey West and Gavin Shipman, played by Joanna Page and Mathew Horne.
After nine years off-air, the programme returned in 2019 for a Christmas special episode that at the time held the record for the highest overnight Christmas ratings since 2008.
It was then announced earlier this year that James and Ruth, who star in the show as Neil 'Smithy' Smith and Vanessa 'Nessa' Jenkins, had reunited to create one last episode of the hit programme.
