An American mum ended up in a British jail after being stopped with more than £200,000 worth of cannabis at Manchester Airport.
Mother-of-four Sukora Ingram said she’d been offered money to take a suitcase with her. But when border officials seized the package it was found to contain more than 12 kilos of cannabis.
At first she denied all knowledge of the suitcase but ultimately pleaded guilty. Ingram, 32, who has been diagnosed with cancer, could be deported and reunited with her children in the coming weeks.
Prosecutors told how Ingram was stopped at Manchester Airport on Christmas Eve last year after flying in from Paris.
