Alexis’ decision was sparked by the current Black Lives Matter protests taking place across the US and the rest of the world, following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis after his brutal arrest.
He has given up his board set so a black candidate can instead take his place and explained the reasoning behind the move during an Instagram Live video with wife Serena.
Serena, who has 23 Grand Slam tennis singles titles to her name, insisted that she had no part to play in Alexis’ decision.Speaking with Alexis in the 36-minute long video, Serena.
