But just seconds before the duo clashed, McGregor couldn't resist trying to take a pop at his opponent. Security had to step in and stop the pair from clashing before the first bell.The fight finally got underway and a brutal first-round took place in Nevada.

McGregor tried to submit his opponent, as Poirier was dropping bombs above the Irishman on the ground. But the round ended with the 32-year-old suffering a horror injury.
