Second man arrested on suspicion of rape after horror attack in park

A second man has been arrested after a woman was sexually assaulted in a horrific attack in a park in Oldham. Police were called to Alexandra Park at around 11pm on Monday (July 15).

The victim said she had been sexually assaulted, and an investigation was launched by Greater Manchester Police. The force also issued a public appeal for witnesses to trace the suspect.

A man, aged 45, was arrested on suspicion of rape. He has since been bailed, Greater Manchester Police confirmed today (July 20).

A second man, aged 44, has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in custody for questioning.
