Perthshire scout groups waved off a dozen of their members on a ‘once in a lifetime’ trip to South Korea on Monday, July 24.

Ten scouts and two older international service team members have gone to participate in the 25th World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) in Saemangeum which has drawn over 40,000 scouts from across the globe.

East Scotland Unit 4 25th WSJ group has sent 10 Explorer-level scouts from Perth and Kinross to fly the flag for Scotland by taking part in the WSJ 2023 which is organised every four years, fostering personal development, teamwork and good citizenship.

The majority of these young people are from Perth with some from Methven, Bridge of Earn, Kinross and Aberfeldy. Parents bid their teenagers goodbye at a barbecue near Dunfermline on Monday evening.
