Scottish Tories deny ever receiving money from Michelle Mone

The Scottish Tories have denied ever receiving any money from disgraced baroness Michelle Mone.SNP MSP Colette Stevenson had written to Scottish Conservative Party chairman Craig Hoy demanding to know if the bra tycoon was still a member of the party.She also asked if she was giving money to the Tories.But the Scottish Tories furiously denied she had given money to the party or had ever been a member.

A spokesperson called the letter "a desperate stunt".It comes as the Scottish Conservative Party conference kicks off in Aberdeen on Friday.The Record revealed in January that Mone is claiming to still be a Scottish Tory member and says she continues to pay her membership fees.Tory Foreign Secretary David Cameron - who made Mone a peer in 2015 - also called her a "proud Conservative" just weeks ago.It is unclear whether she was ever a member of the UK Conservative Party.Stevenson said in her letter: "Is Michelle Mone still a member of the Scottish Conservatives? "Do the Scottish Conservatives still receive money from Baroness Mone? "If so, will this money be returned? "What actions have you and the leader of your party taken to ensure that Baroness Mone is no longer a member of the Scottish Conservatives?"Cameron recently said in an interview with STV that he nominated Mone for a peerage "because at the time from what I could see she was a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur, a proud Scot, a proud Brit, and a proud Conservative.”The Glaswegian businesswoman has been embroiled in a scandal over PPE contracts awarded during the pandemic.She admitted lying to the public about her involvement in PPE Medpro, which was handed a UK Government contract of £200m to supply equipment in the early days of the pandemic.Mone also
