A trade union leader has warned reopening schools in August is only an “ambition” due to social distancing. Larry Flanagan, general secretary of the Educational Institute of Scotland, raised the prospect of a “rota” system where kids go to school every two days.
He added that social distancing could mean halving class sizes to ensure children sit two metres apart.
