The latest figures that 1,383 new cases had also been recorded overnight in Scotland.It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 8,029.
There are currently 336 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 39 being treated in intensive care. The total number of positive cases since the pandemic started stands at 360,983.4,050,011 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,431,062 have received their second.The latest figures come as Scotland was the only nation in the UK to see a fall in infection rates.
