Scotland star Scott McTominay has revealed the details of his final conversation with Erik ten Hag as a Manchester United player.
The midfielder is enjoying a standout season with Italian side Napoli, becoming a firm fans' favourite at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona - and has already netted four goals for Antonio Conte's outfit, whilst securing his place as one of the first name's on Steve Clarke's team sheet for the national side.
However after 22 years at Old Trafford he quit the club for a fresh start in Serie A, with United deciding to offload McTominay for a fee of £25million to help balance the books - with the sale registered as ‘100 per cent profit’ under financial fair play regulations.
And the 28-year-old, who has made 58 appearances for the national side which he qualifies for thanks to his dad hailing from Helensburgh, opened up to BBC Scotland about his decision to leave the Red Devils - saying it was one where he had to put his own career above sentimentality.
