Scots vet issues urgent warning to pet owners after human poo found at popular beauty spot

A concerned vet has issued an urgent warning to dog owners after 'potentially fatal' human poo was found at a popular park.Westport Veterinary Clinic in Linlithgow issued the 'unpleasant notice' after the faeces were discovered at Linlithgow Peel and Beecraigs Country Park.

They advised pet owners to seek immediate advice if their animals ingest the poo.The warning read: "Unfortunately we have to post this rather unpleasant notice that we have been informed by clients that there is human faeces at Linlithgow Peel and Beecraigs Country Park. "Human faeces can be a risk to dogs if ingested.

Out of hours if you call your usual Westport practice number your call will be diverted to the emergency out of hours veterinary team."Pet owners were quick to comment on the discovery.One woman said: "Who the hell does this?

I really worry about the human race." Another said: "It’s disgusting. We’ve seen loads of it!"When one woman question why the pet should be seen by a vet.A Westport Veterinary staff member replied: "There are things which potentially could be in human faeces which are toxic and dogs are at risk, one example would be if that human has had medication or drugs could potentially be fatal to the dog, as well as harmful bacteria etc.
