A mum who left a friend with 20 knife wounds after a brutal murder bid has been jailed for more than five years.Courtney Bodwick, 24, turned on Christine McTaggart, who she later told police had been a "mother figure" to her.
The 41 year-old victim had no memory of the horror attack, but later awoke to find herself in a bed covered in blood.Bodwick was today sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow having admitted to attempted murder at a hearing last month.
Lord Colbeck was sentenced to five years and four months. The term was cut from eight years due to the guilty plea. Bodwick will also be supervised for a further three years on her release.
The stabbing occurred at Bodwick's flat in Rutherglen, Lanarkshire in the early hours of last October 22.Miss McTaggart had gone to wash a glass in the kitchen when the mum-of-two approached from behind and hit her.
