The family of missing man Mark Godfrey say he has been found safe and well after being reported missing two days ago. Scaffolder Mark, 36, had last been seen at around 1am on Friday April 8 in the area of Threehills Drive in Forfar.

He had then disappeared in his red Ford Focus, sparking alarm among his family and a missing persons appeal from police in Tayside.

Mark's former partner Tara Godfrey posted an image of Mark's car on social media in a bid to jog people's memories. In the meantime, police probed his potential connections with Blackpool in a bid to identify his whereabouts.

But after two days of no news his family have breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that he has been found. In a message sent to the Record, Tara said: "Mark's [been] found safe and well and will update more later."The Forfar man's disappearance was described as out-of-character by Tara in a post widely shared on social media. In the post, which featured a snap of Mark's car, she had written: "He hasn't been seen or heard from since yesterday morning he didn't show up to work and his phone is off, no one has been able to reach him and he hasn't made any contact with family or friends."This is out of character and the police are aware."We are worried about his welfare and hope someone can recognise him."He did take his car which is in the picture.
