An Inverurie family are delighted after welcoming their new baby in the newly reopened birthing pools. Gorgeous little Jude was born at around 3.30am on Tuesday, January 30 at the Community Maternity Unit in NHS Grampian.Mum Natalie was supported by midwives Erin and Jude, and student midwife Marieta.
This was Marieta's first experience of supporting a birth and mum Natalie said the experience was fantastic. Speaking to Aberdeen Live, Natalie said: "The team was fantastic.
It was such a nice atmosphere from the get go. I look back at her birth and I feel I got everything I could have wanted. "All three midwives were amazing.
It was nice to have that connection with Marieta and know it's something she'll have forever." While Jude was a name in the family's top three, Natalie also explained that having lovely midwife Jude at the birth "sealed the deal." Talking about how much she enjoyed being in the birthing pool, Natalie explained: "I think relaxation wise it helped.
