A Scots dad who travelled over 8000 miles to spend Christmas with his family has told how lost luggage almost ruined his plans.
Simon Morris and his son Lachlan, who now live in Wellington, New Zealand, faced a mad dash to the shops to replace their warm clothing after their suitcases vanished en-route to Edinburgh.The 46-year-old ex-pat, who moved abroad in 2000, was delighted to be able to bring his 12-year-old son to the capital for his first Scottish Christmas.
But after a mammoth journey, he received a notification telling him their luggage had failed to make it onto the plane with them.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Simon said: "It's my first Christmas back in Edinburgh for 17 years, and my Kiwi-born son's first winter Christmas.
