Scots cops crackdown on bus bandits as thugs skelp vehicles with missiles

Police Scotland is cracking down on bus bandits after a number of incidents involving public service vehicles in different parts of the country.

Officers in Edinburgh and Renfrewshire have been working to ensure the transport network is as safe as possible over the last few days.

In Edinburgh, a probe is underway following a number of incidents of thugs throwing unspecified missiles at moving buses in the city's Liberton and Gilmerton areas.Earlier today, Police Constables Fowler and Kelly and Fowler headed out with Lothian Buses staff and patrolled the areas most impacted by the anti-social behaviour.The action was revealed in a post on the Police Scotland Edinburgh Facebook page, accompanied by a picture of the officers on board one of the services.Community Sergeant Jen Macgregor said: "These incidents are very dangerous to both the drivers and passengers onboard.
