A serial criminal, who was jailed just last month for carrying an offensive weapon in public, has died behind bars at HMP Perth.
Michael Burza, from Kennoway, in Fife, was serving an eight-month prison sentence when he passed away on Thursday, August 4.
It is unknown how he died but a Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held into his death. The 37 year-old was sentenced at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on July 13.
Six months of the sentence was for charges within the Emergency Workers (Scotland) Act, which involve assaulting, obstructing or hindering a emergency worker when trying to do their job.
