The beginning of March marks the first day of meteorological spring, but the weather in Scotland this weekend will continue to feel cold and wintry, according to forecasters. The Met Office has advised that some Scots areas could see some snowfall and chilly temperatures in what will be a 'messy' day in terms of weather on Saturday March 2.It comes after a week of milder temperatures that have taken a sudden dip due to an area of colder air sweeping in from the Atlantic - but experts say it will actually feel colder than it is.
The outlook for today (March 1) is a generally positive one for Scotland, according to Met Office meteorologist Kathryn Chalk, who says that despite the colder weather, the 'best' of the sunshine today will be seen here.
She highlighted that things may turn a little 'hazy' into the afternoon with a few showers here and there in north and west of Scotland.
Temperatures are widely set to be around 5C or 6C today but it will feel 'close to freezing'. Conditions are expected to become more unsettled as we head into Friday night and the early hours of Saturday morning however.
